PRESSEMEDDELELSE

In the 14th edition of our annual group exhibition, “Summer in the City”, we are proud to present brand new works by the gallery’s artists.

Showcasing works consisting of a wide range of media including painting, drawing, sculpture, photography and video, this multifarious display shows the scope of our represented artists and thus provides an overview of the gallery’s profile. Furthermore, we will present five exciting guest artists, especially invited for this year’s summer exhibition.

Richard Mosse is an Irish photographer working in conceptual documentary, for instance in The Enclave, which has previously been shown at Louisiana Museum of Modern Art. In this series, Mosse utilizes an outdated military surveillance film to offer a new perspective on the civil war in DR Congo. This particular film registers an invisible spectrum of infrared light which makes the green landscape appear in shades of pink.

Our second guest artist is Joakim Eneroth, who is a multi-disciplinary artist from Sweden. For “Summer in the City”, Eneroth will be showing a selection of his clean, minimalist photographs which bring up questions about how our individual perception is shaped by a collective perspective. His varied and experimental techniques propose artworks that are both contemplative and poetic.

The American artist Slater Bradley works in the media of photography, drawing, painting, film and video, usually incorporating popular culture, notably punk and pop music to explore various existential themes. Bradley is currently represented in several museum collections, such as MoMA, Guggenheim, Whitney Museum, and the Zabludowicz Collection.

Ditte Ejlerskov is our fourth invited artist. She is a Danish painter exploring the thematic and perceptual experiences pertaining to her generation, typically with a feminist angle. Proficient in a wide array of artistic processes, her practice spans from abstract paintings to pop culture references, while also having been commissioned to paint the official portrait of Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt in 2017.

Kristian Kragelund completes the list of guest artists. Born in Denmark, but lives and works in London, Kragelund manipulates materials with different chemical processes, such as oxidation and deterioration. He typically applies a solvent that alters the surface, which occasionally consists of found objects, to create a kind of alchemistic abstract art.
