Detail is a Minor Thing

Nico Feragnoli, Clara Pallí Monguilod, Johan Gustavsson, Floris Kruidenberg

15.09.2012 - 07.10.2012

Detail is a minor thing will present the work of the four initiators of The Hague's based artist run space '1646'.

1646 is an artists' initiative/project-space in the Centre of The Hague, The Netherlands, which promotes the exchange between local, national and international artists and art spaces, and works as platform for discussion, research, production and presentation of autonomous visual art. Its goals are to provide invited artists with the physical, economical and critical situation/context to produce, discuss and present new work, to create a channel of communication and exchange on international level to and from The Netherlands and to bring the public closer to the practice of art and what it involves: process, reflection, experiment, risk taking.

In its program and approach, 1646' main interest lies in art, the artist and his/her practice and process. Rather than limiting itself to a thematic or theoretical framework, the initiative chooses to fully explore the freedom and tools that are available to the artist, developing exhibitions and artworks that manage to function as unmediated visual means of communication. Core elements in this approach are intuition, awareness of experience and experiment.

In Spanien19c, the four initiators of 1646 (Nico Feragnoli (IT), Clara Pallí Monguilod (ES), Johan Gustavsson (SE) and Floris Kruidenberg (NL)) will capture the above-mentioned mentality within a group show, presenting - for a change - their own works.
